Carolina Abortion Fund
Carolina Abortion Fund (CAF) was founded in 2011 in response to seeing patience delaying or cancelling their appointments because they couldn’t afford the full cost out of pocket. They operate a confidential, toll free helpline that provides financial, practical, and emotional support to callers in North and South Carolina trying to access abortion care. They serve all of their callers regardless of gender identity, race, age, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, religion, ability, place of origin, citizenship, and all other physical or social defining factors. They are a pro-abortion and pro-choice organization that works in partnership with reproductive justice organizations locally, regionally, and nationally to support families access to parenting, abortion, and adoption as valid reproductive options.
Bottom line is, the values and practices of CAF align perfectly with the overall values of Scapegoat Initiative, and their work is directly related to the messaging of Keely and Du. We are proud to partner with them and through our partnership, strive to bring awareness to the work they do and help them bring more resources to the community.
Rootz
Rootz is dedicated to dismantling the Family Policing System while also building community-driven alternatives that keep Black families together, heal generational trauma, and resist systemic harm.
Scapegoat Initiative recognizes the connection between Reproductive Justice and Family Policing, as well as the need for productive paths forward to dismantle a system designed to oppress Black women and families. We support our BIPOC, LGBTQIA, and Disabled community members leading their own movements to ensure they have the same rights to have the bodily autonomy to have children, not have children, and parent their children in safe and accessible ways. This is why we are thrilled that Rootz has agreed to partner with us, and we hope to spread the word of their good work.
Shadowbox Studio
Shadowbox Studio is a place to film things, watch things, and do things. Even theatre! They’ve kindly made space in their schedule to host all performances of Keely and Du. They’ve also donated storage space and rehearsal time. This production could not happen without their commitment to art, community, and justice in Durham.

The Durham Savoyards Ltd.
The Durham Savoyards, Ltd. is a non-profit musical theatre organization in Durham, North Carolina, dedicated to producing the operettas of Gilbert and Sullivan. They have been a 501(c)3-designated public charity since 1965 and take their name from the Savoy Theatre in London, a name derived from that of the Savoy Theatre in London, which Richard D’Oyly Carte had built to present his productions of the G&S operettas.
Scapegoat Initiative has been fortunate enough to have had the partnership with The Durham Savoyards and the friendship of many of its members since day one. This amazing community of artists has shown was true community collaboration means, and their tireless efforts to support and promote the work of Scapegoat Initiative have been a solid foundation for us. We look forward to many more years of our relationship with them.
